My Art, My Inspiration
My artwork evokes mood, passion and movement through the use of colour and texture; sometimes giving a calming effect or energetic vibrance.
My work is a personal expression of my interests, background and lifestyle. Living on a moorland farm and being a passionate horse breeder and environmental conservationist has influenced my practice while still retaining calming feelings of the natural world.
Contrasting my home environment, I am drawn away from the natural world by the bright lights of nearby towns and cities illustrated in my urban landscapes.
My influences are wide-ranging and encompass the great artists such as Gustav Klimt, Edgar Degas and Vincent Van Gogh to contemporary artists such as Alvaro Castagnet and Jean Haines, with a keen interest in prehistoric art inspired by a visit to caves in France many years ago
